One of my favorite parts of my job is hosting singles events. Our events are a great way to create connection with people who otherwise would never meet. So we’ve designed it so that everyone gets to meet and engage in conversation. After seeing hundreds of singles at my events I started to notice patterns. I noticed who was going to be successful and who wasn’t going to be successful.
So I’ve created some key takeaways to help you be successful at making connections at events and even out and about.
Watch the video below for some key tips on how to make the most of your next event.
I felt like I had to put this out there because I don’t know how many times someone saw my online dating profile and then searched for my social media pages. I think it’s totally okay to check out someone’s social media accounts, it gives an extra glimpse into who they are. However, I highly recommend not to message them on the online dating site and then on all their social media accounts and then message them again when they don’t respond… Yes I’ve had that happen on several occasions. It looks creepy and gives out the wrong vibe. I even had a couple guys get mad at me for not responding to them after I obviously didn’t swipe right on Tinder. I’m like “I don’t even know you!”
So when it comes to online dating don’t cyber stalk. If someone doesn’t respond to your first or second message or your right swipe don’t track them down on social media. Cyber stalking looks desperate, is creepy and will not win you a date. However it might win you a restraining order. If you’re not getting a response from one person just move on to the next. You’ll connect with the right person. You can’t force a connection that’s not there. Also keep yourself safe from cyber stalking. If you have an erry feeling about someone delete them and don’t respond.
Also resist the urge to social media stalk someone new that you’re dating. Why are you checking up on someone that you’re newly dating? It’s easy to take things that you see on social media and over analyze what’s actually going on. I’ve seen many people cause unnecessary drama in a new relationship over something they saw on social media. Get to know someone for who they are not for what you see online. Unless of course their social media is filled with pictures of them and their spouse or any other major red flags! Then you know just to run in the opposite direction. Otherwise if they seem quite normal then let social media go for a while and get to know them.
It’s the weekend! Do you have a date or night on the town planned? Single & ready to mingle? Not sure what to wear?
First impressions are everything! We literally have just a few seconds to make a great 1st impression. Here’s a few tips on how to feel and look stunning for your date or night out? Because remember you never know who you’ll meet while out & about.
~ Practice self care on a consistent basis. When we look worn out and like a hot mess on a daily basis it starts to show up on the outside and in our energy. Do something every day to help you relax. Even if it’s just 10 minutes. Take a hot bath, do 10 minutes of yoga, paint your nails or just go for a walk. Daily self care is essential in feeling and looking our best when it comes time for the date.
~ Wear bright & flirty clothes! Bright colors represent friendliness, fun and approachable. I’m not saying go into your date with a bunch of neon colors. We don’t want to blind our dates. A cute pink blouse or blue dress is the perfect option for some bright options.
~ Make sure your clothes fit your body type. Stay clear of large patterns or too tight clothes. Keep your outfit classy not with cleavage falling out all over the place. Classy can be incredibly sexy without showing too much skin.
~ Don’t over do it on your makeup. Makeup can accentuate your features or make it appear that you just got off your day job as a clown. Learn how to apply makeup and what colors look best on you. Go to the makeup counters at the mall or contact one of our stylists. We’d be happy to help you with some great makeup tips.
~ And last but definitely not least! Love the body you’re in! Self confidence is key in finding and creating a long lasting relationship. When we’re confident in who we are we radiate with beauty. Embrace those stretch marks and your curves. You’re gorgeous girlfriend! Go out there and get ’em!
